The DSID 134 Design and Meaning class challenged the students to design an object which incorporates and aspect of “transformation”. I chose to design a vape that would target older smokers who were still using “old world tobacco”, which includes cigarettes, cigars, and chewing tobacco. My goal for this project was to design a vape that would appeal to a more distinguished and tasteful demographic. I wanted to retain the handsome silhouette of the classic tobacco pipe, but integrate new technologies.
