Initial Shell Concepts

  • The first step in this process after sketching out rough ideas was to start ideating shell concepts. I wanted to implement a surfaced outer cup in order to relate the design more strongly to BMW’s vehicular design language. I also wanted to integrate some sort of vent style logo placement in lieu of the BMW M car line.

Charger Interaction

  • I wanted to utilize the driver and passenger seat aesthetic bezels in order to conceal the contact charger for the headphones. This would also allow for convenient storage when the headphones are not in use. the “hook” would feature a soft open and close feature to return the charger to the seat bezel when not in use.

Full Headphone Concepts

  • The Final Step in the process was to create full drawings in order to visualize the final headphone product. This would allow me to see what combinations of designs worked, and what didn't. This step gave me confidence in which model I would want to CAD, finally settling on the design which featured the Harman Kardon logos.
